The Maverick Carter House, located in downtown San Antonio, boasts educational programming and venue rental opportunities for locals and visitors alike. The three-story limestone Maverick Carter House was constructed by English architect, Alfred Giles in 1893 for real estate developer William Harvey Maverick, son of Texas Declaration of Independence Signer Samuel Augustus Maverick. The Carter family purchased the home in 1914 and are still the owners. Today, the house is a Texas Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Maverick Carter House hosts educational events throughout the year and lends itself to hosting elevated private parties and corporate events.
