An untold history with rich stories awaits guests at the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM). A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed to collect, maintain, disseminate, and interpret authentic African American artifacts related to San Antonio history, the museum boasts a community-based digital archive of historical accounts to cultivate a stronger understanding and appreciation of Black history in San Antonio. Located on South Presa Street in La Villita, guests can expect to experience digitized, audiovisual exhibits rich in culture, storytelling and empowerment. The San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum has launched twice monthly African American history tours focused on San Antonio’s city center. The tours, on the second Sunday and fourth Saturday of each month, will be limited to 19 people per cruise in observance of social distancing. Private group tours also are available.
