The Our Lady of the Lake University’s English department cordially invites you to M. Miranda Maloney’s Poetry Reading and Book Release for Cracked Spaces.

She will be reading her recent publication, Cracked Spaces (Pandora Lobo Estepario Productions 2021).

This event will be moderated by Dr. Octavio Quintanilla.

Katherine Hoerth proclaims, “Cracked Spaces straddles borders: of innocence and experience, languages, culturas, environments, forms, and … illuminates these liminal spaces…”.

M. Miranda Maloney is a writer, publisher, and editor. She is the founder of Mouthfeel Press, one of the first bilingual presses in the U.S.-Mexico border to publish emerging & established poets from the U.S. and South America. She is also the Outreach Educational Coordinator for the Smithsonian Latino Center Digital Collections, and poetry editor for BorderSenses and editor at Arte Público Press. She curates the program “Writing Ourselves Into History” for the Wise Latina International organization.

Her poetry, essays, and articles have appeared in the Bellevue Literary Journal, Huizache, The Texas Review, Mujeres de Maiz, The Más Tequila Review, Acentos Review, Tasteful Rude, and anthologized in various publications by Lamar University Press, among others. Her work has been translated into Spanish and published in Uruguay, Mexico, and Italy. She has edited over 20 collections of poetry and short stories. Her book, The Lost Letters of Mileva (Pandora Lobo Press, Chicago, IL), was translated to Spanish and published by Yaugurú editorial in Uruguay in 2019. Cracked Spaces (Pandora Lobo Press) is her most recent collection.
